Wow, I hope that catches on here. It would save a lot of lives, as our young people tend to get shitfaced and drive into things, like each other. Some huge percentage of traffic fatalities of people under 25 are alcohol related. I’ve personally always thought “phone sex” would be a total waste of time.

I think that the huge reliance on public transport in Japan results in far fewer traffic fatalities, but certainly a lot of crimes/deaths are related to alcohol, just as in Western countries. I’m sometimes surprised by the lax attitudes towards public drunkenness here. I don’t allow the Sonbeam to drink at all (or at least I’ve told him, “if you’re old enough to drink, then you’re old enough to leave home” and it seems that he is not willing leave home at all, because he rarely touches alcohol. Something about the free laundry service?).

I don’t know a lot about phone sex, but I automatically approve of it, because of the low risk of pregnancy and STDs, not to mention the embarrassing morning-after conversation when you are struggling to remember his name …!

On a German board (which I left) people were getting plastered, pickled, pissed and downright inebriated every single evening – with cyber drinks.

I always found that slightly odd; what’s the use of reporting “I just finished my tenths glass of beer and I will be sick tomorrow?” if people did NOT have 10 beers?

Germans are strange, very strange people.

Topped only by the Japanese, my friend!
