Out of the mouths of babes

A recent conversation between two of my third graders:

“You go to school in Osaka?  It must take a long time to get there.”

“Yeah, but it’s on the loop line.”

“Oh the loop line.  So there aren’t too many suicides, then.  That’s good.”

“Yeah, I like the loop line.”

Kids!  They say the darndest things.  (And the truest things, too.  I prefer working on the loop line for the exact same reason: very few delays caused by suicides.  Can you guess why?)

Trying to get out of going to school? No idea.

  2. Petra says:

No bridges to jump from onto the tracks?

  3. Jeni says:

    No idea here either.

  4. Miko says:

Elementary, my dear Watsons. It’s a loop. Therefore, the trains run slower. Not conducive for successful suicide.
