Innocence regained

What do you think of these ?  I first saw the works of Loretta Lux a couple of years ago when she was exhibited in Japan.  Initially I was a bit creeped out, and then I became quite fascinated with the eerie, slightly unearthly beauty of her subjects.   Yesterday I came across a photographic book of hers that is popular here, and found it no less disturbing than the exhibition.  I think she’s very gifted, and very brave too.

I like her works, but am not left breathless over them. They are indeed a bit creepy. It somehow feels like child porn. It must be the smoldering expressions she captures.

Yes, they look like children who’ve been turned into dolls, or cartoon characters. Very appealing to the Japanese.
